Your VIN and the local check
The VIN field is processed by JavaScript in your browser. This application uses it only to check the 17-character format and display the same reference in the two preview windows. It does not submit the VIN to a server, put it in a URL, store it in cookies or local storage, or send it to any external lookup or analytics service.
The current input and reference are held in the page’s memory. Closing a preview does not erase the form field. Reloading or leaving the page ends this application’s in-memory session; browser-level history or restoration behavior is outside this application’s control.
Analytics and preferences
Analytics is turned off. The local site-tools.php script is loaded, but it does not collect events, contact a provider, or write browser storage in this mode. This application sets no cookies.
Hosting and external links
Your hosting provider may keep ordinary access logs, such as IP address, browser information, request time and requested page. This application does not control that provider’s logging or retention.
Official lookup links open another website only when you choose them. The VIN is not appended to those links. That website’s own privacy practices apply after you leave this site.
Contact by email
Email links open your configured email application. Any message you choose to send will be handled by your email provider and the recipient’s provider. Do not send sensitive vehicle documents or other unnecessary personal information.
